LBK venting

NEVERMIND.......while turning it upside down and shaking with sanitizer I see why there's no lid insert. It vents because it's not a tight seal................................. I just received my 1st Mr. beer order. I don't get the physics with the LBK. I screw the lid (no lid liner) down tight but the LBK will still vent?

Yes, that's how it's designed. The Brewdemon and also the 3 and 6 gallon Coopers fermenters also work the same way more or less.

If they didn't vent, then they go boom. LOL.

With the lid snug tight ... the notches on the rim allow the CO2 to escape.
As a fermentor ... the LBK does just fine. Been using one for years.

Fair warning: the rim's inner lip tends to split easily. Handle with Care.

I'd actually recommended against screwing the lid on too tightly. Doing so can potentially block the vents.

Yes, While fermenting it will keep a positive co2 as long it is vented and no problem, if going to do a long aging yes might not be so good.

I agree, I use to when using a LBK would tighten it down then back it off a little.

Another LBK Pro-Tip: don't over-tighten the spigot.
