I'd like to get some sticky labels for my 1L PET bottles to either simply write some data like beer type/times/dates/amounts/etc, or else print a nice home-designed label and give my cool-looking bottles as presents.

The problem is that many labels I've seen are just too sticky. You have to really apply elbow grease and a lot of effort to remove the label completely. I don't want to sit there, picking away at the labels with my fingernails or trying to rub the gummy residue off the bottle.

Is anyone using labels that they like? Labels that are easy to peel off when the bottle is empty?

Also, is anyone using label design/printing software?

I had a few labels printed, using cling vinyl. They have no adhesive, but they stick to smooth glass and peel off easily. I haven't done it, but I think I remember reading that a printed paper label will adhere using a very small amount of milk brushed on. I remove commercial labels from beer bottles by soaking in hot soapy water, you might try that on your home labels.

I’ve been legging for quite some time now, so I’m trying to remember. I think I just used an elmers glue stick. When it was time to remove the label to reuse the bottle, I ran it under really hot water. The label became saturated and peeled right off. Then a light rub down on the bottle and the glue that remained came off too. It was pretty easy.

I've been legging for a long time, also. I also started kegging at some point.

There used to be a guy here (and on other forums) with the username @beerlabelman. He sold a lot of different types of labels at good prices.

Yup also went by name uncle Steve, we traded a lot of beer together and sent me a lot of cool beer related stuff and had a label deal going on, was up somewhere by NYC. Haven't heard from him in a while, good stuff he had.

Avery labels work great, as long as you're not dropping the bottles/labels in ice/water.
For fridge use, they work great.
