Hi all this is my first time brewing beer. I'm brewing Oatmeal Stout and am ready to get it going so we can taste it once it's complete. I do have a question before I get it going though, do I place the red plug in the hole when I first my fermentation process or do I put it in place further into the brewing process? Also, how do I receive my Beer Borg members discount?

Welcome. I'm not familiar with the new fermenters, so I don't know what the red plug is.

For the discount, there's a sticky in the member's only forum that tells how to get it. If you already have an account, I think you may need to call customer support.

Unless you have an airlock and a bung to put in that hole instead, the red plug should be put in right away (now), and it should stay in. It is a venting plug, it will let out pressure like an airlock.
