I'm looking for another option to get something that tastes like Brewdemon twisted monk . I think it tastes like blue moon I like these kits but the shipping is crazy...

Are you willing to take the first steps towards using unhoped malt extract and boiling your own hops?

If so a kit like this will get you going - this will make 5 gallons, you can simply split it in two and brew it twice.

Takes a bit more time then the cans, but you get about twice as much beer for the same price as the kits.

That seemed like such a huge leap to me when I first contemplated it.

But it's really not that bad. It takes more time, but you can still do it on the stove with things you have on hand.

I agree that extract grains and hops isn't much different than HMEs, but proceed at your own pace.
Is there a homebrew store anywhere near you?

As was asked and answered on another thread, your options are kind of limited to about 3 or 4 companies that sell the canned HME type kits. Moving up to a LME, grain steep and hop boil is a next easy step and opens up a whole new world of options. As John Sand said "but proceed at your own pace".

That looks like it would work pretty well. It's designed for 4 gallons, but it would be easy to split and do two batches.

You could try the first 2 gal batch as is and if you wanted it a little more Blue Moonish could add some orange peel and coriander on the next one.

Yes you can. For 5 gallons, you would want to use 1 to 2oz or so of sweet orange peel and about 0.25 to 0.5oz of ground coriander. You would add that to the last 10 minutes of the boil in a beer you made from scratch.

In your case, boil your water for 10 minutes with the orange and coriander in it, and then add the extract to that water. Make sure to use a bit more water then called for to account for the boil off (or top it up if needed).

You can tweak that to your tastes, use more or less, or a mix of sweet/bitter orange peel. It depends on the "orange to lemon" balance you want. Bitter orange peel will be a bit more herbal, where sweet orange peel is more pure "orange". A traditional wit bier would likely use more or all bitter orange peel, but blue moon is NOT a traditional wit bier, blue moon doesn't even use authentic wit bier yeast, it uses regular American ale yeast. You can use even more, or even less of the spices. It's really up to you to find the perfect amount for your tastes. (for 2.5 gallons or 2 gallons just divide the amounts above proportionally).

Note that actual blue moon would have oats in it, or an actual wit bier would have wheat in it, your Coopers draft will not have these things in the extract. So your beer will be much more clear looking and have a bit less of a silky mouth feel then blue moon or a wit bier. Also the Coopers draft extract is going to be more bitter to start with then blue moon or a wit bier.

That doesn't mean it will be bad, it just won't be "the same".

Got it do the normal water boil but add the coriander and orange peel first then after the 10 minute boil add the HME as normal

And could I used dehydration orange peels?

Probably not I'm in a tiny town in Florida the closest anything within 10 miles is a John deere dealer
