Cider smells like an army barracks after a weekend pass

Cider smells like an army barracks after a weekend pass

Hi
2 batch of hard cider this time 100% by recipe no changes no add on . Sanitized everything twice blackberry cider kit brewdemon. 4 days fermentation now smells like a bunch of egg farts... this normal or did I screw the pooch again?

I have had certain types of yeast that will put out a bad sulfur smell for a while then goes away. Other then that does your water smell that way, A lot of people in my area have well water that smells like that. I fortunately do not.

As was said some yeast do produce sulfur, and it goes away later. I think you are probably ok just roll with it and see what happens. My Vienna Lager smelled like you described during fermentation, but its delicious now.

Yes it did but it had had a Bluetooth filtration system put on it along with 5 spin on cartridge filters.


The last 3 or 4 batches of beer and this cider I used store bought gallon bottles of spring water.

It's almost stink free now just had a hard week now smells much better....
