Brewdemon Carbonation Time Question

Post by cstotz-ny »

I'm currently in the carbonation process of their Wit recipe and the instructions say to wait 7 days when carbonating (checking every couple days for firmness - and when it's firm and like a new bottle of soda, it's ready for the fridge).

I'm on my 2nd day and the bottles are firm already. I recall this being the case on my first brew about a year ago but I waited the 7 days anyways. Recipe and sugar levels were followed exactly as instructed. So my question simply is Are my bottles already ready for the fridge and drinkable once they are cold? Like I said, they are very firm similar to an unopened 2 liter of coke.

Thanks

Welcome!

I know the instructions say to wait 7 days, but I think you'll like the final result better if you wait 14 days.

2 days is definitely too soon, even if the bottles are hard.

As Brian said two weeks is a lot better, you might try one a little sooner and will be ok, but will see a big difference if longer.
Edit: Wheat beers do tend to carb a little faster and I don't why on that.

You can drink them anytime you want but it's well worth the wait to let them chill for 14 days.
