I sent an email to my boss today. I'm going to work a half day on 10/11 to demo the last task I did to the client.
After that, I'm officially retired.

You go guy! Tough time to retire but I'm sure you're prepared. I've got 2 years to go and I'm done.
All the best to you going forward.

I'm still just a semi-old fart, so I have a way to go.

I have not competed in an organized official Tri since pandemic. I have done disorganized local club group ones to keep in practice, but that's it. Those are somewhat random in actual distance, not official in specs at all, sometimes shorter/longer swims, sometimes shorter/longer runs, sometimes shorter/longer bike legs. Have taken a ferry to an island, dropped off bikes, taken ferry to other island, swam back to first island, rode bikes, then ran around it, then took ferry home once. That was fun.
There is a crazy local trail run considered the one of the toughest if not the toughest in the state that I might do if they don't cancel it. I hike in the place it's held all the time so I know the terrain well. You get an award at the end no matter what, a big hunk of bluestone slate with something painted on it, like a skull and words like "badass" or "dumbass" depending on what happened to you during the run.
