Do not have one yet Bob, but I am getting ready to order Add a pump kit from Bobby, along with some other things from him. He is highly respected in the HBT community, has a lot of great information on his site and is going to get my business real soon. I'll keep you updated when I place the order.

I was actually making a list with diagrams how I want my system plumbed so I place only ONE order, but that's like one trip to Home Depot, right?

Just noted he's out of stock till mid October, no worries so is the Chugger pump company. Amazon has some, but I'll wait till Bobby has them again.

Thanks Ink. I have a March pump that I use in my HERMS rig. I am looking for some to use just to transfer wort between fermenters and to fill the kegs and/or bottling bucket. I have seen pumps that work but bring up the food safety issue!

What about pushing beer out with CO2? If you use a fermenter that can be pressurized, like a carboy, Better Bottle, Spiedel, corny keg, or a conical, you can just put a few pounds of pressure on it and push the beer out. Otherwise, look at wine transfer pumps, but they are pricey.

@ russki That is the issue cost. I am so restricted in what I am allowed to lift. I can't even drag around my CO2 tank. I would need a larger tank then too.

@mashani Wonder if the wife would allow those two pumps :D :D :D

@RickBeer a 50% charge??? A little early for home-brew isn't it?? Or are you drinking that infamous A^2 Mushroom tea??

Think I am going to bite the bullet and spend the bucks on a pump. It is either that or seriously consider that it is time to quit brewing. I started the spinal steroid injections today what joy. Looks like this is going to be a monthly thing too. Hope it helps.

How about this one: http://www.kegconnection.com/keg-kit-in ... basic-kit/
It uses a paintball tank, so the weight is minimal, and you can also use it as a portable dispensing kit. And CO2 refills are only $5 at any Dick's Sporting Goods. Just saying...

Now that is something to think about. I am unsure on how to set that up to work with the buckets that I use for primary. You most definitely gave me some ideas to think about russki!!

Just like a country club elite to spin things the wrong way. It is NOT a 50% charge. 24x12/640= 45%. Sheesh.

And it is NOT a charge. It's a SERVICE. Think of it like a GREENS FEE. Or the mandatory golf cart that a golfer doesn't need. A SERVICE.

I'm sure you can get one of the lawyers at your club to explain how you can utilize creative accounting to put it on your tax return as a deductible back preservation fee.

I don't think this will work with buckets since you can't pressurize them, but would certainly work with Better Bottles. Here's a link to a thread discussing this on HBT.

Thanks for the advice guys!! Went ahead and ordered the pump. Like the wife says do what you need to do, why risk hurting you back any more. Also picked up a 1/2 pound of Cascade. Feel an IPA coming on. At least now I will get my Oktoberfest into the keg   Guess it is going to be a Christmas-Fest now
