Earlier this year, beer blogger Bryan Roth started the Six Pack Project. His goal is to find a beer blogger in every state to compile a six-pack of bottled/canned beers from their home state. Sheppy (who used to post a lot on the other site, though I'm not sure if he's signed up here) has done a couple states (Colorado and South Dakota), and through him I ended up doing the Tennessee post, which hit my site today. It was a fun little project for me, as it caused me to revisit some beers/breweries I hadn't had in a while, and to explore some beers from different regions of the state.

There is a lot of good info found by clicking through the various states on Bryan's site. If you see that your site isn't covered yet, and you have an interest, drop Bryan a line. If he doesn't have anyone lined up, you may be able to get in on this...

Not sure if this is true for all states (as clearly your post states you did do statewide research), but I think at least as far as NY is concerned, there is a serious flaw in the project.

The reviewer for NY was clearly from the NYC metro or surrounding area and chose beers brewed locally more so than statewide.

And while the choices were all fine examples made in-state, it appears that some finer examples may have been missed, overlooked, not available in that area or whatever and could not have possibly been reviewed nor had a chance to make the list...

Maybe the project needs to be subdivided into major metro areas within a state to more adequately cover the range of available products.

Maybe you could pass this comment along to Mr. Roth.

You'll note that in a few states, Bryan has accommodated just this kind of situation, but it's really up to someone stepping forward and proposing the new six-pack for the non-metro area. In Maryland, Illinois and Pennsylvania, so far, there are two different six-packs for just this very reason. For instance, in Illinois, there is a Chicago-centric sixer and another sixer focused on the rest of the state. If you want to propose a non-metro sixer for your state, I'm sure Bryan would be interested in hearing from you.
