The Steamship Mathers
Once again, Dawg LB Steve has offered up another medal winning recipe with his version of a California Common. This recipe earned Steve a bronze in the 2015 Son Of Brewzilla home brew competition and is an outstanding example of this style. This is a great, refreshing beer to enjoy on a hot summer’s day and will quickly find it’s way into your regular brewing rotation. Award Winner: Bottoms Up Brown
This Bottoms Up Brown recipe has won a bronze medal at the 2015 King Of The Mountain Home Brew Competition and a silver medal at the 2015 Son Of Brewzilla home brew Competition and speaking from personal experience is one of the best brown ales I have ever had.

Not Just Another Homebrew Book
It seem like every time I look there is another home brew book available explaining how to brew beer. Many of these books are simply a re-hash of the many brewing styles and methods that home brewers can use to create our favorite alcoholic beverages. Granted it’s hard to really find new content to write a home brew book about and keep it fresh when the basic process for brewing has remained the same for centuries.

One Last Summer Fling – Louie’s Oberon Clone
Here in Michigan one of the things that we look forward to in the spring besides the Detroit Tigers Opening Day is the Bell’s Brewery release of Oberon Ale. The return of this hazy, golden orange colored wheat beer is almost a state holiday and many people, non-brewers mostly cannot wait until this seasonal beer comes back to their local beer store. I have to say that as much as I like Oberon I like brewing my own version even more.
