Recipe Collaboration Exchange – Building Better Brewers
One thing I absolutely love about running this website is that I was able to have so many great people join the forum and contribute. The knowledge that everyone brings is amazing and I often find myself reading about some part of brewing that I just didn’t know before and never really thought of. Even though we’re still a relatively small community of brewers there is a tremendous amount of sharing of knowledge and fellowship. A great example of this sharing and fellowship is the Recipe Collaboration Exchange (RCE) that is run twice a year. One of our forum members, […]

Review: BrewDemon Conical Fermenter (3 gallon)
I was finally able to get one of these new 2 3 gallon conical fermenters that BrewDemon is producing. There has been a lot of speculation and anticipation from much of the home brew community, at least the ones that I frequent about this new fermenter. Why Mr Beer?
It’s kind of funny to hear the different responses you get when you mention Mr. Beer! Many old-school home brewers tend to have a less then favorable view on the “novelty” beer kit. I’ve heard things like “You can’t brew real beer with that.” and “It’s a waste of time and effort when you only get 2 gallons of beer…”. But there are others that look at these simple beer making kits as a starting point or gateway into an obsession , umm, eer a hobby, yeah hobby, that’s it!
