Re: Where is everyone?

I've been a bad boy with not being active, sorry. Work has been a killer lately. Self employed and have been traipsing all over the state for business. Too much windshield time.

Cool. I live in Bergenfield but pretty much work all over the northern half of the state. Beer delivery with no postage, gotta love it!

Re: Mr Beer Blowout Gameplan

Wowsers...thanks Ssorck. Just what the doctor, er daughter ordered. Sounds simple enough. When did you put the can of Blackberries and Lactose in? before the yeast or did you wait a week or two? We figured it needed Lactose but wasn't sure what fruit to use. How did it turn out? were you pleased, u...

Re: Mr Beer Blowout Gameplan

@ T8rSalad - Here is my crack at a Lenny Berry Weiss clone. For the record I never used any of the old Mr. Beers, just tried to get close to the 4.9% and 13.5 IBU's to match. Adeed the DME b/c Lenny says there is some Caramel & Munich in it... Mr Beer Berry Weiss ------------------- Brewer: Ssor...

Maybe that's what I'll use my second can for...never even had a Biere de Garde...any decent commercial versions out there you'd recommend?

Re: Mr Beer Blowout Gameplan

10) 1 Can Xmas Spiced - will make this one straight up, but will likely change from T-58 yeast. I found the Mulling Spice was a little over powering. This might be since I bought my spice fresh not from a grocery store and was very strong. Also I thing the beer needed more Almond extract, I think t...

Battered Bastard of Bastogne - Memorial Day Brew

Well really Brewed this yesterday, Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. It's named 'Battered Bastard of Bastogne'. It's a Belgian Strong Dark Ale with American Hops - hopwfully similiar to 21st Ammendment Monk's Blood. The beer is named after a nickname for the 101st Airborne. They successfully defended ...

Bottled yesterday (finally) - finished at 1.007 for 9.98%.

Sample was yummy, got 14 bombers and 5 12's. Will let it sit until at least Oct. before trying her.

Re: Trippel - Mr Beer

Added the 3rd sugar addition yesterday. I've got to say its pretty neat to have fermentation slow down and then kick back up with the additions - I used a blowoff tube on this one and withing 30 minutes of adding the sugar she started blowing bubbles again (in the blowoff water - never had an overfl...
