Evil One Pilsner questions
Is this one ok on its own, or does it need dressing up? I have a 3.75lbs can, it will be going into a LBK. So its going to be on the strong side already. I have some pale, and some light malt, with and 1oz of Saaz in stock. But I am a little worried about adding more malt to do a hop boil. Will stee...

Re: Aztec with Smooth
The temp was about 72 the whole time. I thought the MB yeast didnt well that low. I will give a lower temp a go on my next one. My basement temps are coming back up. Almost to 65 degrees now, which is about were it sits in the summer.

Aztec with Smooth
I brewed up a batch of Aztec with a packet of smooth and a packet of pale. I let it sit for about 7 weeks in the bottle, and then 3 days in fridge. It came out tasting like a Belgain type ale. Nice, smooth, with some fruity flavors in it. I was going for something closer to Negra Modelo, instead of ...

The temp is now around 68. I have it in a box with a towel around it. Hopefully it will hold steady for next couple of weeks.

Re: rookie mstakes tonight
I moved the lbk downstairs, the air temp is 60. That thing has cooled to 78, it was at 80 when I got home from work. It should be ok still, well I hope. Find out in 2 months, or so.

Re: rookie mstakes tonight
I put the cd chase under the front, good tip. I might cold crash if there is room in the fridge. It is brewing away right now, I could smell it when I got up this morning. It looks like it might be running a little hot, closer to 80. My room temp is 70, should I put it down stairs were its around 58...

rookie mstakes tonight
Had a couple of mistakes, should be ok though. I forgot to use a hop sack during the boil. So they disintegrated, since I forgot there, I went ahead skipped using one at flame out. After letting it sit for 5 min I poured it in the lbk, then pitched the yeast. Then I realized I forgot to add the seco...

Re: Mr B Czech pilsner flavor
Thanks for the replies and the good info. So thats the infamous PoR hop flavor. Not horible, but not great either. So its only real strong if you do the HME by its self. And not so bad if you spice it up in a recipe.

Mr B Czech pilsner flavor
The Czech pilsner has been in the bottles for 4 weeks now. It was my first MR B. batch, just plain HME. Now I will call a success but nothing real special. It has a flavor in it I just cant place. My best try would be kinda woodsy, it hits about the middle of the tongue. This doesn't taste much like...
