Re: Gotta Love those Grandchildren

Thanks all. Really proud of her and her life, spent 3 months in the hospital at one stretch with her (almost lost her) that was enough to make me go crazy. She says she is going to live with us forever and take care of us when we get old and can't do anything. God help us!

Gotta Love those Grandchildren

I know most of us that have grandchildren love them to death, but I have one I'm very proud of. This granddaughter came to live with her Nana and Papa when she was 8 years old, she's 21 now. We thought that she had a learning problem and had her tested and come to find out she was a Special Needs ch...

Re: Mash Temps and Times

You all are Golden. Been reading online on mash and temps. but needed the BORG input for more rounded understanding(I need simple terms, or I'll have a brain fart). All this info I hope will make me a more rounded brewer and improving my beer to the level that most will enjoy it. I'm going to be doi...

Mash Temps and Times

Don't know if this has been answered or not but here goes. Is there a way to figure the mash temperature and time for each type of grain or is it the beer style? I have BeerSmith which figures this for you but hay if not in front of the computer I may need to know this, and knowledge is power.

Re: High Gravity BIAB Electric Brewing System

Been on Home Brew Talk the last 2-3 days checking out sources for High Gravity 120V BIAB system. It seems that there is one guy there that is really down on High Gravity. He claims that the EBC is a hunk of junk and that the whole system is way over priced. I know that I haven't checked all the syst...

Re: BIAB Elecric Brewing Sys.

Thanks Screwy I plan pulling the trigger on this in November once I start getting my SS check(shusss  don't want the SWMBO to know she gets all my money as is, and has for the last 42 yrs.) Don't know if you saw, but High Gravity also sells the system w/out the recirc which is about $200 ch...

Re: BIAB Elecric Brewing Sys.

Screwy if you'll check out the first post and first Link that should put you to the 120V sys. I've been keeping up with your brewing adventures with your sys. but just wanted to see if there was and first hand knowledge with 120V form the Borg members.

Just checked that should be the second Link.

Re: BIAB Elecric Brewing Sys.

Louie, Beer-Lord; thanks for the comeback. Been looking at a lot of brew systems and what I've seen is impressive but cost is always a big factor when buying, so with shipping and so forth I see the best bang for the buck is in my home town (no shipping cost). I however do want a good system and jus...

Re: BIAB Elecric Brewing Sys.

No comments so I think i'll have to go to LHBS to see what this will consist of. Really not sure if its the system I want, but need to check it out. The real question is if I use LME, DME or other additions how the coil on the bottom of the kettle will affect the stirring of said additions or allow ...

BIAB Elecric Brewing Sys.

I just checked my LHBS here in Tulsa for brewing systems High Gravity has a BIAB Electric Brewing System that's a 120V sys and has an EBC SV controller, Chugger SS Pmp, Recirc Sys w/spray head. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this system? I know that Screwy got one of their brewing ...

Re: First Brew Tasting

If the beer was warm on his beer won't that affect his carbonation? I can see where carbonation is weak on the first 2 - 3 weeks but if it was placed in the fridge for a day or 2 wouldn't it show more? Just my take on this vid.
