Re: Basement Brewery Build

Very exciting stuff! I enjoyed building my brew dungeon. I'm still making upgrades here and there. Those first couple of pics look like you are building a grow room not a brew room! :) Have fun and enjoy!

Re: Need a wort chiller recommendation

Note about copper immersion wort chillers. If your neighbor is nosy and watches a lot of moonshiners on discovery channel and you leave your wort chiller on the window sill of the basement. You may get a knock on the door from your local police department. Idiot!

Re: Closed churches being used as breweries

And yeah, it looks like a cool place to me: https://cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/system/images/photo_albums/church-brew-works/large/blue-altar.jpg?1384968217 [/quote] The place you have pictured I visit quite often. Re: Another homebrewer taking it to the next level

Yikes! Upon further review, I have learned of where this place will be located. The building is where bar owners locate to go out of business! I have lived in the same area all my life, this place is just bad luck for anything that has ever been in there. The location is out in nowhere. The Old Mill...

Re: Another homebrewer taking it to the next level

Well this is pretty crazy! This place is in my backyard. Literally next town across the river from me. I haven't heard about this until I read it here.

Re: I Ordered a Hop Spider

Something to consider when buying one of the basket type strainer things. The next paragraph is a statement on brewhardware.com This unit has a 300 micron mesh which offers maximum pellet hop exclusion from the boil at the cost of less circulation during the boil which may impact utilization by 10% ...

I have never cleaned or changed my lines. I also would not even see if the beer back flowed into my gas lines because the lines are red. Hmmmm.......

I've not had this happen, but I only keg hopped twice with a REALLY FINE weave hop sack before getting a SS Hop tube.
