Re: Going Backwards

Hi fellas. Thanks for the replies. I do believe the Briess (or equivalent) and some steeping grains is the way to go for me at this time with a ice bath in the kitchen sink for the time being the more I ponder it. I have been digging in the forums at Home Brew Talk and there has been discussions gal...

Going Backwards

Hey all! Long time no chit chat. My last brew was about 4 years ago a couple months after my boy passed away. I fell into a funk and stayed for a good while. Now, I am wanting to do a brew here and a brew there again but I have issues. Cons 1. I have had 3 surgeries on my back (neck is scheduled in ...

Re: Hello All

Hello again all and thanks for the replies. Yeah berryman I like the atmosphere here much better than the other place. I knew right off the get go I would. I really enjoyed seeing many of the old MrB Fans here when I registered. That was great. I think I am going to get with my LHBS guy and talk wit...

Hello All

Hello all. I just wanted to stop in and give a quick shout to all my old pals from the old MrB fans community and new ones alike. I was formerly known as MWE_001 there. Lifes been hectic and have not really got to brew at all. Last batch was over a year ago. I went down stairs tonight and saw all my...

Re: Collecting Chiller run off water

Hi Mashani I brew upstairs and have to ferment downstairs as well. I have boys that are capable of hauling for me when needs be. I got major bad hands as well. Good old uncle arthritis. My Chiller is a full 50' I believe of 3/8 copper.... I think. It is a BIG OL' honking chiller. Literally.... Our v...

Re: Another Illinois Guy

Hi Tony. The big city of Cape. I go there many times a year. I got to Midwest Neurosurgeons there. Good ol' I got some charges on me Doc Fonn. Every time the boy goes with me, we hit the White Castle before leaving town. We load up and then moan and groan the rest of the night! :-D

Citra Hops 14.5 %

Just curious if anyone else is feeling the pinch on Citra hops lately? I can get any hop I want at a decent price but Citra, OUCH and they are now in short supply lately where as before they were no problem at all to get. Is Southern Illinois the only place short on Citra? It really hurts as I use c...

Re: Another Illinois Guy

Hey bud!!! Yeah it's me! I did loose that avatar sadly enough. It was the ones with the hands crawling up the pic. It was from a movie but what One i don't recall. I still have that chiller and use it regularly. I took it to a brew club meeting with me for a brew day and they all had a field day wit...

Re: Moink balls

Man I REALLY hate to necro post but for the record MOINKS are awesome. I thought only us guys over at BBQ Brethren knew what they were. And a "Fattie" is a sausage chub either cooked as is or stuffed and or wrapped in bacon. I prefer my Fatties non stuffed and not wrapped. I like them as i...

Re: My stupidity amazes me sometimes

I have a 20lb tank that has lasted me 4 years so far. Now that can either be really embarrassing, or good depending on how you look at it. And every time I have ever hooked it up I have always done the old starsan in the spray bottle thing as well. Just piece of mind.

Re: Collecting Chiller run off water

The reason I bring this up is exactly as has been stated. Not only money, but saving water. Here I don't have the option of storing in barrels outside the house. That will get my panties in a bunch with the city real quick. They don't allow 5 gallon buckets under down spouts either. Mosquito abateme...

Re: Quick Brewing Category Question

Thanks fellers! I just wanted to make sure what I was doing was fair and right to everyone. I appreciate all the replies. As I stated before, I started with the old MrB back in 2009 and have pretty much stayed with extract the whole time minus 1 BIAB session that I ended up brewing my one and only i...
