Re: Help with blueberry beer?
That would certainly be a way to do it. I used Australian Summer hops with my last batch (Rhapsody on Blue), but it's still in the fermenter so I don't know how it's going to turn out yet. My experience with adding fruit (so far, Blackberry and Raspberry) is that it doesn't achieve the results I wa...

Help with blueberry beer?
So I have moved up to a 5 gallon kit and have been doing 5 gal batches...But, for the last few weeks my girlfriend has been asking me to do a blueberry beer for summer. I'm not going to do a 5 gal of it, but I do have : (1) Mr. Beer Patriot Lager (2) MB Pale LME (1) US-05 Just looking if anyone has ...

Re: Brew craft recipe kits
That's what I did... HME kits...Then Steeping grains + LME/DME + Hop boils..It's a nice little building block before going all grain because you will be familiar with hop boils/times as well as regulating temp/time from the steeping grain

MB Poor Richards Ale
Okay so I brewed this in the beginning of August and somehow didn't manage to try one until now. I have to be honest I am a little surprised. Recipe is : MB American Ale HME Softpack DME - Pale 1 1/2 ounce Cascade Hops @ 10 minutes I used US-05, recipe does not call for it however Surprising amount ...

Re: Hellfire Amber Ale Bottled
ok so taste testing -
Tried on about 1.5-2 weeks ago...Didn't really taste too good, was relatively flat.
Tried one today. Tastes pretty good. As of today has been in the bottle roughly 1 month and already tastes better than all of my Mr. Beer kits :/ Should taste great in another 2 weeks

Re: Best Brand of HME?
For the majority of the brewferm kits you have to add sugar..I think 500-750g ^ All of my Mr. Beer kits have turned out pretty crappy ..Whether it's the recipe straight up, with added DME or LME, with their yeast or US-05 or S-04...Etc etc, so no vote for them by me. I have made one BrewDemon kit, a...

Re: A recipe to age
Going with what he said - Brewferm makes a bunch of 9 liter kits (Roughly 2.5 G)...Abbey ales, dubbels, triples, christmas ales etc...From what I've read they all taste pretty good and for some of them Brewferm recommends aging for several months...Costs much less than a Mr. Beer kit too, I just got...

Re: Cleaning LBK Question
Oh yes of course - should have said after the initial dumping out of the trub - i do the same thing for my glass as well
I don't think it's hot enough to distort it, i wouldn't go throwing it in the dishwasher but it's been fine

Hellfire Amber Ale Bottled
Nothing in particular to post...Just bottled up my Hellfire Amber Ale as my first BrewDemon recipe.. Used the can of Hellfire Amber Ale, can of Mellow LME, and used S-04 for yeast...About 3 weeks in fermenter at 64-68 degrees, didn't take gravity readings but it smells and tastes pretty good already...
