Finished KZG, my first coolaboration with KZ(where did he go). An imperial red partial mash with a boatful of hops. This last 6er conditioned for 10 months. Now Im drinking a firtst pitch pilsner brewed with a lager yeast at 48F. Its very good after those heavy reds. After a week of midnites, its needed.

Drinking a porter I brewed the end of June. Finally becoming drinkable, although it is a bit flat.

Drinking a homebrewed Saison. Worth the wait; this one took 6 weeks in the fermenter to finish. Tastes really good!

Tried a bottle of Napa Smith Brewery Crush that a friend gave me. This is a newer brewery up in the Napa Valley here in CA known for its wine production.

This beer is described as:
"Crush is a medium bodied lager with a toasted malt aroma and soft Oktoberfest beer character. In tribute to the grape harvest in Napa, we also add a small amount of grapes to each batch. In keeping with the Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest, this Amber Lager incorporates the use of traditional malts with low hop bitterness and a hint of fruit flavor. With white foam lacing the glass, Crush is soft, complex and elegant. As they say, “It takes a lot of great beer at harvest time to make great wine.”"

This tastes like a glass of wine to me. I took one smell and knew what it would be like. And I only took one sip - no likey.

Moved on to a pint of my Summer Ale that I keg-hopped. It has changed a lot. It's nice to know that this is a good technique for saving a mediocre beer. Plus, my taste buds are back :D

"Golden Hefeweizen". But I'm still working on the recipe - a touch too creative in adding lemon juice into the beer in this version. Next time I will try to get the desired touch of citrus from the hops.
