Hello everyone, total newb here. Never brewed before nor blogged, so this is a total learning experience for me. Just got my 2 gallon fermenter from BrewDemon. Currently brewing their IPA recipe. Not a fan at all of IPAs, but decided to give a home brew IPA a chance. I think my next batch will be either a Stout, Pilsner, or a Witbier.
Any suggestions or tips for a first time brewer?

Hi Tattman, welcome aboard! Study and practice will yield great beer.
I like to ferment for three weeks, the beer clearing is a good sign that it's done. Four weeks in the bottle should carb. Don't stress if the early batches aren't great, but celebrate if they are. Keep us posted on your adventure. Cheers!

Your best friends are patience, sanitation, patience, and temperature control.
Give it two to three weeks in the fermenter and three to four weeks in the bottle. Then a minimum of three days in the fridge. Some people think that longer refrigeration times don't provide benefit, but I've found longer refrigeration can help.

Good evening everyone. I'm a new home brewer and appreciate any and all help. This is something new to me and I would like to eventually make my own recipes. I'm a 3 year young father of 4 beautiful children. I reside in central Texas in a small farming community, that's just big enough for a stop light. Just stopping by to say hi. I currently order 2 gallon batch recipes from BrewDemon, and apparently I'm supposed to ask how to get a 15% discount with them through this forum.

Good morning. I'm looking to upgrade from my Brew Demon kit to something I can customize a bit more with styles. Any recommendations that are beginner level without much space and a limited budget?

Are you looking to brew/ferment different recipes with the Brew Demon fermenter you have or looking to upgrade your equipment? Welcome to the forum! If you want to brew the same size batches for now, you can learn to steep grains, do partial mashes and go from there. You can even mix and match DME/LME and hops to get different beers. From there, if you want to start doing all grain brewing, it takes a little more equipment/understanding of brewing. Small steps is the best way to learn IMHO. More info on what you want is needed, there are lots of good brewers on here that will jump on and help.

Welcome to our happy place.
Just to make what others have said clear though, you can make any kind of beer in your brew demon fermenter. You just have to scale the recipe down to 2.5 gallons and have whatever other equipment is needed for that kind of beer. For all grain you need a bigger pot then extract or partial mashes. The only limit is has is capacity.

I still ferment in Mr. Beer LBKs, doing 2.5 gallon all grain BIAB batches. I have had as many as 6 going at once. They fit perfectly in my upright fermentation freezer that has non-movable shelves.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Good evening! I am a new brewer with my first batch conditioning in the fridge. My wife bought me a BrewDemon kit with Witbier ingredients. While waiting for that to be ready to drink, I got their Wicked Irish Stout and Black Bishop Doppelbock kits to try next. Looking forward to learning more as I go along!
