I am biased but I think electric is the way to go. Spike is top tier but you don't have to go that high if you don't want to. But I want you to!

Most definitely. I always find it amazing how someone can jump into a new hobby and start out with all top of the line equipment. At this point in my life, and brewing, I'm more about "want" than "need" [emoji16]
Those are nice, albeit pricey, systems.

Personally, I do agree, and for the most part in the last 20 years of my life, follow the "buy once, cry once" mantra. But I do OCD before many of my spendy decisions.
