PET Screw Caps
Are these really re-useable? For some reason, I think I should get all new ones.

Re: PET Screw Caps
I have reused mine but if they are domed then I toss them. Some were used a total of 3 or 4 times before the dome was noticable. They don't seem to seal well when domed as some bottles seemed undercarbed.
Good judgment comes from experience, which comes from poor judgment.
Re: PET Screw Caps
yup i reuse them too without problems.....ive actually had the bottles start to separate a lil bit tho then i have to toss the bottle but that was only when i was using bud light/miller light p.e.t.s.
Re: PET Screw Caps
They are good at least 5 times usually, often even more. If you carb high and they "dome" or become misshapen, like was said, or if you get an undercarbed bottle and the cap was on tight, that's about time to get rid of them and get new ones.

Ok. Sounds like it'd be a good idea to pick up some spares while at the lhbs today.

Or you could keep soda bottle caps for spares.

I don't drink soda. I gave it up a few years ago. I don't trust high fructose gmo corn syrup.RickBeer wrote:Or you could keep soda bottle caps for spares.

Re: PET Screw Caps
Ask friends to keep caps. I have a container of 7UP caps that fit perfectly.

Re: PET Screw Caps
All soda caps seem to be the same size, which is convenient. I save caps from 12 oz, 16 oz, 20 oz, one liter, two liters. Any brand, any size. I have more than enough bottles, so I recycle the bottles and save the caps for spares.
