Today is bottling day for my first batch of a toasted coconut porter. The sample has a fantastic robust porter taste, but is sadly lacking in coconut flavor. Debating on the addition of coconut extract at bottling time to enhance the flavours...

It's always better the second day, warming it up now, hurry on over I've got some brews chillin'.

My thermostat says it is 73F inside but I have been freezing all day, already had a cup of hot tea mid-day, now sippin' a toddy; I am to darn scrawny to live any where that gets slightly cold.

First brew day since early September...what the frick am i doing??? So I ended up brewing an old recipe from Mr Beer, Blueberry Thrill with a extra can of blueberries in it, this one is for my daughter's birthday in late February. I felt motivated to then brew another old Mr Beer recipe of Black Tower Porter, thing that sux here is it is only coming in at 3.4% ABV (another lie from MB as it is to be at 4.4%). The BTP is for my wife so I hope she likes it as it is a surprise.

Got my third batch starting tomorrow, Mr. Beer Sunday Morning Coming Down coffee stout with an extra Robust UME pack. Got their Dark Forest Stout conditioning now though, tried a bottle at a week and a half, not great but I am hoping another week and a half mellow it out some, and then another week or so even more.

Also on another note what do you all think of adding a 1/4-1/2 lb of carapils (seems to be recommended a lot) or a few cups of oatmeal?

I am going to start adding some steeping grains myself on my next batch. Here is the thread discussing it:http://beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1363

Brewed up an American brown ale yesterday, called it "BuckNutty Brown". Going to add some hazelnut flavoring at kegging time. Couldn't have asked for a better day to brew outside, Calm winds, Cloudy and Cool outside, it was a good day.

Damn you man! How can you tease like that?

I just kegged (plus 5 bottles) of my Big Honkin Stout. I think I won't be brewing for a few more weeks but who knows what my life will be like in a few weeks. Holidays and parties mess things up pretty good.

Well it was kinda ok, I mean some of my friends said it was great, but I have questionable taste in friends. :p But the main reason is because it's all gone and I have 1/2 of an 05 yeast cake just waiting for some bitter sweet wort. That it in the background, 90 minute Columbus hops are in.
