Re: Really????
Not to worry. They'll just put the swill in a cool new bottle or a new can with extra holes in it and the "sheep" will buy them again.
And speaking of new cans...I want it known that I came up with this idea first: A can that, when a female wraps her hand around it, it tells her weather she is ovulating or not so she can decide if she should allow herself to be "picked up" (I guess the new terminology is "hooked up" (eww!)). And if it determines that she isn't it makes a loud, shrill whistling noise to attract all the males within ear-shot. The females won't have to buy a beer ever as all the males will be buying beers for them in hopes of hearing that whistle. It's an idea that could save the American "beer" market.

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Do they not like Milwaukee? That list sounds like my high school years the Beast, Old Milwaukee, Butt wipper. Lots of memories and hangovers.

Re: Really????
What that article doesn't point out, though, is that the BMC are so "diversified" within their own product line that it may not have all that much impact on their bottom line.
It doesn't matter to AB/InBev if Budweiser Select sales go down, as long as Bud Light Lime sales go up, is what I'm saying.
I'm not sure this indicates any kind of a trend at all, actually.

Michelob Ultra has got to be the foulest crap I've ever had the misfortune of trying. It's like colored water. I cannot believe as a segment that Ultra is growing. You can't fix stupid or stupid people with poor taste. The Michelob Light franchise “is a sinking brand at this point. There’s still a bunch of Michelobs, and Ultra is growing,” Shepard said.

Re: Really????
Its very trendy, like the "beer experts" that talk about beer but all they really know is "hoppy" as a style and seem to think that beer tasting like liquid hops is "good" beer. I had some from a guy down the street before he knew I brewed, I have no idea how the heck he choked this crup down. I am not a hopped beer person but I can tell a nasty beer when I taste it, he tried mine and I think he liked it better than his because he drank it faster than the beer he bought.
Re: Really????
FD, the trend may be switching from one tasteless beer to another...
But as you state, with so much of the market share, they may not be feeling it...

Re: Really????
I think the big thing is they are talking about specific labels and I think they are competing against themselves. The less than 60 calorie beer market seems huge with college students and early 30s business types not to mention all the faux craft beer such as Blue Moon and what not.
