My great uncle in Wisconsin owned a cheese company and had a herd of dairy cows. It was always great when we took our trips to WI and came back with boxes and boxes of cheese (and sausage and chocolate). Ive had the bug for quite some time but never made the jump. This may just be the reminder push that was needed. Of course SWMBO will probably just roll her eyes and think "oh no, here comes another obsession...."

The first time I went into Adventures in Homebrewing, I saw the cheese kits. I had to restrain myself from picking one up, since I knew SWMBO would give me grief. So, I've waited about a year, I think it's time.

Been making mozzarella & ricotta for years. Have made cottage cheeses, large & small curd. Have yet to try a cheddar or a hard cheese yet. So Bluejaye where are you at? I'm up in the Clarkston area.

For all the years Ive been going there, I just finally noticed they have them last time I was there. Had a nervous twitch ever since. But, just like beer we both like cheese so may not be a bad thing. May not... keep telling yourself that Yoop....

Downriver. I'm literally about 2 miles away from AiH.

Moderator it looks like this deserves to be relocated into a subject category ala the mead, wine and cider folks; there seems to be plenty of interest.

lol. I use to live about four blocks from them. Then they moved to their new location. Now I have that long distance 4 mile commute. Sucks to be me.

I decided to post it in another thread due to the large number of pics...

So, if you want to know how to go from...

Ok. When SWMBO starts giving me crap about yet another hobby that takes place in her kitchen I am going to direct her here. You guys can take the heat.

LOL!

So, do what I did...

My SWMBO was skeptical that it would work, that it would be good and wanted nothing to do with it.

So, my son, grandson and I pulled it off, it was great and she loved the freshness and the taste of it.

:thanks:

Now that she is very impressed with the results, she wants to learn how to make it...

(... See my other thread for the process...) :wow:

Now, she has instructions in the form of my other post ( my evil plan comes together... ) and can make it whenever she wants to!

:muahaha:

I'll just do what I always do. I'll just do it. Better to ask forgiveness than permission.
