Welcome to the Borg. I don't use a BrewDemon fermentor but there are a number of people here that use them and like them. Just wanted to welcome you.

Welcome to The Borg NickD I also have never used one but they look like a good way to go on a 2.5-3 gal fermenter. There are quite a few members here that use them and I'm sure they will chime in.

welcome to the forum, NickD_1+. brewing in this case is the making of ale. here is a site with free reading on how to brew; http://howtobrew.com/. don't let it worry you just a little over a year a go I didn't know anything about brewing either. it's not really hard or my dumb a*s wouldn't be able to do it. :)

The LDC is a great fermenter. I've had one for going on a couple of years now. I have to use it during the winter when I don't need to end up with the ferrmenter in the wine chiller because the LDC doesn't fit into our wine chiller. For summer time brewing, I use the LBK as it fits perfectly in the chiller.

I like the concept that the LDC puts less trub in contact with the brew. I like the ease of bottling from the LBC as with the LBK, I have to jack the ends up or down depending on the level of the beer to keep the trub from coming out and clogging the wand.

Welcome to the Borg and the obsession! I can't wait for Brew Demon to come out with their 6 gallon conical, supposed to be available this summer. A little over three months ago I never thought I would be brewing All Grain recipes instead of pouring a can of HME into hot water! :clink: :welcome:

Welcome Nick! This is the nicest forum on the net, and brewing is a great passtime. It's not an addiction, I swear. I can stop anytime I want. Spare a guy $2.95 for some hops? :)
I like the BrewDemon Conical. If you scroll through the forums here, I think you'll find a section on it.

Never mind, there it is.

Welcome, Nick. Most everyone on here started with the Mr. Beer system but we won't go into that story here. As far as I'm concerned I think the Brew Demon conical is cool as all Hell and would love to see them come out with a five gallon version.

Don't be afraid to keep all of us up-dated on your brewing adventures and certainly don't be afraid to ask any questions.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

I have 2 brew demon conicals, probably will get another sometime soon.

I'm a fan, and think they are worth the extra $ over a Mr. Beer LBK.

The only thing I'd consider as an alternative personal would be a 3 gallon Speidel fermenter. I don't do glass anymore, and I don't do fermenters without a spigot anymore.

We got a conical a while back, have only done one batch in it so far but I like it.

For Wings and others-here is how I controlled temps using the conical with ice packs.

That is a large Husky styrofoam cooler turned on it's side. As you can see the conical fits with room to spare for airlock, stand and frozen ice packs.
I've seen the coolers at the store for around $9.00.

Nice tip BB. I'll look out for one. One of my few criticisms of the BDC is that it won't fit in a standard cooler.
