NHL Playoffs

Post by T8rSalad »

Who's your team? Are they a definite contender or pretender? I see Red Wings fans sitting right next to me, I'm a Coyote fan. Kudos to them for making it to the playoffs for the 20-something time in a row!!!

For now, I like a rematch of last year, Blackhawks v Bruins, in Lord Stanley's finals. What say y'all???

My local team is the Tampa Bay Lightning (yeah, their playoff run ended swiftly... lol), but my die hard everyday team is the Buffalo Sabres. We all know they were last in the league this year in terms of points, so needless to say they're not contenders! As for the teams that remain, I'm cheering for the Minnesota Wild as they are the affiliate to my hometown ECHL team, the Orlando Solar Bears. In all honesty, as long as the Pens lose, I'll be happy!

Minnesota Wild supporter here. I also played against David Legwand back in the day and we became pretty good friends back then ... So I followed Nashville while he was there. Not he's with the Wings so, sorry Legsy, can't support you any more. Well, at least your club any way.

Sabres fan here...

Hey, with the number of games they play each year, they will statisticaly win some of them...

Therefore, it's hard to be last, or even close to it!

(he said as he turns head in shame and moves toward the fridge door...)

Hahahahahaha....Nice one BigPapaG

Some of the series are really good ones so far. Even the St. Louis vs. Chicago series (done now obviously) still it was a good series. Sorry Blues fans...Up 2-0 then get swept for all intense and purposes to lose 4-2 and head to the golf course.

For some unknown reason, I have a heart for the Buffalo Sabres...no connection whatsoever, BUT I was a ted Nolan fan and a Lindy Ruff fan and then Dominik Hasek fan as well. I have a Howl in my true heart and Coyotes either can't make it out of the first round of the playoffs or even make the playoffs.

I live just outside of Columbus, so I'm a Blue Jackets fan. But it looks like your Pens are skating well tonight Fred, and will most likely end it tonight. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised we made it this far against your Penguins. A well played series my friend!!!

San Jose Sharks local boy here.

We opened 3-0 against the Kings scoring an average of 6 goals each game then dropped the next two so we're at 3-2 right now. We need to close this out tonight to avoid the dreaded GAME 7.

Man, CBJ almost made the comeback of the century! Fleury almost went full choke!

Yeah, I was sweating it out in the last 10 minutes last night.

KUDOS to the CBJ! Johnson and Dubinsky were probably the 2 best players over the series until Geno broke out last night.

Fluery is always an enigma, spectacular one minute and flopping like a clubbed baby seal the next.

I’m hoping for NY in the next round. It’s a no brainer as the Pens have owned Lundquist and the Flyers have been in their heads for the past 2 seasons. However nothing is easy or a sure bet during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

GO PENS!

Fleury is partly the reason this series had to go this far, when in my eyes, it should not have. Have not been sold on him over the past two seasons really. He looks too shaky at times when it matters the most. We'll see how he stands up against either NY or Philly.

My only concern moving forward (if I were a Pens supporter) would be how will the defense react knowing they have a shaky keeper in the cage? Will they tend to be more defensive minded and not jump into plays as often as they normally would or need to in order to press the offense and take some chances? That could be an issue and put more pressure on the Pens offensive stars who honestly, have been anything other thus far in the post season.

I mean Niskanen and Martin are Pittsburgh's top point getters so far in the post season with eight points a piece and all eight from Martin are helpers, zero goals. Crosby has zero goals and six assists, where is he? You can't rely on Niskanen to take you to the Cup. Yes, he was a good player (46 points) in the regular season, but you can't tell me Pens fans believe they can win with just him scoring goals.

The only star for the Pens doing anything right now is Geno. He's got three goals and four assists, at least he's producing goals. And I know Sutter and Jokinen are scoring as well, still. The Pens (to me) are just a shaky team from the pipes right now and that is NOT how you win a Cup.
