Check this out!
So found this article on Yahoo!. Haven't read it yet, wanted to share with you guys first!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/1 ... 68608.html
So, I tried doing one of those fancy click links, but I am no good with the code. It's an article about a beer with added electrolytes to keep you hydrated and possibly to avoid hangovers.

Wish I would have read the article before posting it. Kind of a lame article, but it just seems to hydrate the drinker 1/3 better than normal beer. But it also has less alcohol, so who knows if its the electrolytes or lack of alcohol.

Re: Check this out!
I'm trying to find the actual paper. They keep comparing the modified light beer to the normal beer during their summary but it says they also tested modified normal beer. I would like to see the numbers of the light beer vs the modified light beer as well as the numbers between the beer and the modified beer.
I really hate when they produce studies like this because the summary doesn't do a good job of reporting what was actually discovered. Then the news agencies take this questionable study and produce all sorts of news articles based on it.

You guys are right, Chuck and Duff. Not really a reliable source, I too would like to see the actual results. They really didn't do a good job in the article, and I wish I would have read the whole thing before posting. Pretty lame article.

Re: Check this out!
If I'm drinking a few more than normal, I drink a glass of water after my second beer. If I'm really a bad boy, I drink water after every other 2 beers. It does bring me to the restroom more frequently but hey, I don't wake up feeling like crap.

Been doing the 2-1-2-1 etc method for years now. My recovery bounce back isn't what it once was, and adding the water in really makes for a very pleasant next day for me too. (Plus I don't seem to do as much stupid crap as I used to... )Beer-lord wrote:If I'm drinking a few more than normal, I drink a glass of water after my second beer. Re: Check this out!
If I know it is going to be a long day of drinking I try to drink a glass of water every few drinks but I usually forget that. Before I go to bed I take a B vitamin complex and then drink as much water as I can. That seems to really help with the hangovers. The B vitman trick was suggested by a friend of mine that was in training to be a doctor at the time and it seems to work.
JimH I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining about you or your source. It's really the scientific publishing community that I am starting to get frustrated with. It's like the only way to get your article mentioned is to claim something that is at best tenuously supported by the data. But if you want the actual data we take VISA and Mastercard.
