Charon's Oar

Post by D34THSPAWN »

Here's the recipe for the peat smoked porter (charon's oar) I did based off of NB's peat smoked porter recipe. Smelled heavenly when brewing and bottling, tasted great out of the fermentor. Waiting a full 6 weeks before drinking, came in at 1.070 and finished at 1.020 so almost perfectly on the numbers.

proportions on some of the grains are estimated since NB has their exclusive nocturnal select grain blend. Really excited for this one!

Delicious fruits of my labor! Dark chocolate and peat smoked malt (whiskey) dominate the palate with a light smokieness, little undercarbed but that makes it super smooth and very drinkable. 6.56 percent makes it hit hard though. VERY happy with this one.

Thanks guys, loving this one, at least as much as my Pale Ale, it keeps getting better with age too, at about 6 weeks since bottling and its starting to blend really well!
