Alright I recently got my hands on a Cigar City limited edition IPA. It was brewed with Orange Peel. Pretty darn tasty. The orange is very very subtle.
I have some bitter orange peel and am thinking of throwing it into an upcoming batch/recipe.
Has anyone had any experience working with bitter orange peel and ales?
My gut is telling me add it in at the last 5 minutes of the boil. But outside of that I'm not sure on the amount to add or if that is even going to do anything.
Any suggestions/tips would be awesome!

For 2.5 gallon batches of my winter dark ale I've had good results with .5oz during the last 5 minutes.
Re: Bitter Orange Peal / IPA
I have had good results with an ounce to an ounce and a half added at T-10.
For Saisons and lighter styles, an ounce is fine, for heavier or more complex styles, if you want to get some orange out of it, use an ounce and a half for five gallons.
Adjust on the next batch to taste.
Might want to try Sweet Orange Peel as well... Or even orange zest!

I meant to buy sweet but purchased bitter by mistake. I think I will keep it easy and throw in an ounce at the last 10 or so.

I add to last 5 - 10 minute boil in a muslin sack and toss into fermentor.
Always turned out great with BITTER Orange Peel
DO NOT LIKE sweet Orange Peel in my beers

Both work well. In a couple of Belgiums I have done I used both. The bitter can be added at 30 to give a more pronounced bitterness to complement the hops. It is all about what tastes good to you. I brewed a sasion over the winter which used must seeds, skins, & juice. Can't wait till Christmas to give it a try.
