Will do, thought about you every time I went in a store. I'd ask "Where's the Yazoo, do you have any Sours". Found the Yazoo, but no sours. Wish now I'd grabbed another one for cellaring.swenocha wrote:SUE! Tell me what you think. I still have several 2011 bottles that are top notch now (they are top notch fresh, but even better with a few years on them).
Well, some folks just don't know what's good.swenocha wrote: One of my favorite beers, and one of Kealia's least favorite...
I think a lot of folks would like to put a Imperial Cherry wood Smoked Porter recipe into their brewing data base.swenocha wrote:Also, I have the recipe if you like it...

Rumor has it that Kealia drain poured it... too sturdy of a beer for his delicate digestive system, I suppose...Inkleg wrote:Well, some folks just don't know what's good.swenocha wrote: One of my favorite beers, and one of Kealia's least favorite...

I can neither confirm nor deny that I liked/disliked Sue.
Re: Mixer-sixer thread
If you all are ever in Nashville, this is quite outstanding...
JENI'S YAZOO SUE WITH ROSEMARY BAR NUTS ICE CREAM
Cherry wood-smoked porter beer by Nashville's Yazoo Brewing Co., grass-grazed Ohio milk, and fistfuls
of almonds, cashews, peanuts, and pecans dusted with rosemary, brown sugar, and cayenne.
An ice cream your old man might make in his garage.
Jeni's also makes a great lambic based sorbet on occasion, and a gelato shop in town makes Yazoo Hefe and banana gelato, as well as occasionally a Yazoo Onward Stout variety.

Re: Mixer-sixer thread
Yeah, all of the sours are currently taproom only draft and bottle sales, and they sell out the bottles within hours with 2-4 bottle limits (usually by lottery). They are putting the final touches on their sour/barrel facility, and they have a separate sour bottling line, so that may change soon.Inkleg wrote:I'd ask "Where's the Yazoo, do you have any Sours". Re: Mixer-sixer thread
just found out yesterday that my favorite liquor store does mixer-sixers. They said they've been doing them for quite a long time but I apparently never paid them any attention. So I got me one (six?). I'd take a picture of them but I can't find the @#$% camera or the @#$% adapter for the mini chip from my cell phone. So you'll just have to trust me and use your imagination.
Here's the inventory:
1) Lake Front Brewery's "Pumpkin" ale. Not sure why I got this. I've never tried a pumpkin ale that I liked. I guess it's a form of insanity. But I drank this last night and I actually liked this one. But I'm glad I only bought one bottle of it.
2) Summit Brewery's "Octoberfest". Summit has never made a beer that I haven't liked and I love a good Octoberfest so...
3)Brekenridge brewery's "After Rakin'" Autumn ale. No idea what this is going to be like. But the label says, "Warms the soul, soothes the spirit." Sounds good to me.
4) North Coast brewery's "Old Rasputin" Russian Imperial stout. I have to compare this one to the RIS I make.
5) Shiner Bock. Eh. It's Shiner Bock. Always a good beer.
6) Bell's brewery's "Mars" DIPA. It was sitting next to Bell's "The Oracle" DIPA. But I've never tried a DIPA before and they were asking $3.50 for a bottle of "The Oracle" where they wanted $2.50 for "Mars". And...What can I say...I'm cheap.

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
