Homebrewers Bible - Yeast
So Made, what I call the "Homebrewers Bible to Yeast, Hops and Grains".
I printed out several pages of info and stuck them in a binder and than I took all the yeasts out there and made a document of them all and printed that and added that to the bible. I wanted to post the links to the Grains and hops here and will attach a word document or pdf file for the hops in the hop thread.
This is the one that took me the longest because I copied and pasted each one in to the word document and formatted it a bit to fit. This binder has been invaluable to me for quick references to yeast characteristics and some different grains and hops to try out.
Working on trying to get the yeasts uploaded but it won't allow a docx file or pdf file. Will figure it out later today after work. What formats work?? I have tried Docx, PDF, rtf, xlsx, txt and html at this point and non will let me upload.
EDIT BY Beerlord:
I've attached a pdf file but to view it, first download it to your desktop, highlight the file, then right click and choose 'rename'. Use the arrow keys to get to the very end of the name (zip) and delete the letters 'zip' and replace with 'pdf'. You should then be able to open the pdf file.
EDIT BY Rabbit:
Thanks Beerlord! What I did was click on it and click 'save as' and before I saved it I did what Beerlord said, I went to the end and changed the formate from .zip to .pdf and it worked!

You could try renameing the extension to .jpg and making a note to download the file then change the extension back to .pdf. I thought pdf files worked here but I guess not. How large is the file?

The other 2 are 'stuck'. I'll wait until D_Rabbit posts the link then make this one a sticky too.

I did use a PDF formatter and changed it to a JPG and it makes each page its own picture, which means about 34 pictures I will have to upload. Dan, don't do it that way...D_Rabbit wrote:I did use a PDF formatter and changed it to a JPG and it makes each page its own picture, which means about 34 pictures I will have to upload. Just rename the file from yeast.pdf to yeast_pdf.jpg
And leave a note for users to download it and rename it back yeast.pdf
This way, it's still just one file...

Note that often playing with the format can dramatically increase size. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro (not Reader), and it does allow me to dramatically decrease the size of a document that may be too large, if you need that.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Depends which team shows up on the field Sunday, the first or second half Browns, remember what happened the last time these two met. I have season tikect in the DAWG POUND, I'll make sure I have a couple of spent grain dog biscuits to toss to your guys!Beer-lord wrote:I rock now but when the Saints beat your Browns Sunday, you will throw rocks at me.

Shoot me a PM with your email and I can email it to you and see if you have any luck. I tried what you were saying and it came up with Invalid attachment error.

PHEW! That was a tough one, my PC doesn't support .zip files, downloaded winzip free trial still fought with it. Deleted all the files and zip program went back and selected open with Adobe Reader, popped right up and printed!
Thanks again D_Rabbit! Great info on all the items!

7zip is a free program and will open all compressed files that are not encrypted.
