Guess who else is emailing to missing commenters

Although I haven't been to the MrB forum for quite some time (I can't remember my log-in) I still get promotional emails from them. But I haven't got this email.

While I agree with Dave that I have out-grown Mr Beer and have no intention of ever using their products again they did give me my start into this wonderful world. And with that being said I feel that we owe it to the other newbies that come to the Mr. Beer site to share the knowledge that we gained starting with Mr. Beer. At the same time we owe the "new" Mr. Beer nothing and should encourage these new people to branch out away from the HMEs as soon as they can.

All brewers should brew what they want the way they want. My philosophy encompasses all the options out there, including HMEs. Just because I choose not to use HMEs or even kits from suppliers doesn't mean I will denigrate them. Good beer is possible with every option.

I'm not dissing any process here; I'm just saying I have no use for the Mr. Beer online forum now that Leigh has provided this site.

Just on a whim, I went over there to see if the forum functions better now. Answered a few questions, and the normal posting seems a bit more peppy now, so then I decided to add a photo (remembering that being one of the things that totally freaked things out). Went to the 'what are you drinking' post (last post there in April), and attached a photo. It's been spinning for about 10 minutes now trying to post the image. The search and recently replied links still seem to not function as expected. I guess some tweaks are still needed.

Yeah, me too. Maybe they figure we are buying stuff so they dont need to discount us or something.

I am guessing they didnt list The Borg as they are more of a direct competitor (and filled with people who left due to the forum "upgrades" and total lack of communication). I first joined Mr. Beer when I rapidly learned that Homebrewtalk was out of my league and many tended to treat n00bs as b00bs.

I will check there around Christmas and help out the new guys out a bit. The haerbob persona has been banned for life. wonder if that had something to do with some posted comments about their CEO
