Helps to share my troubles...

Post by alb »

Was on vacation with my dad, unplugged. No internet or cell service available. Came home a day early: Dad’s wife broke her shoulder. Bad break but everything is stable at this point. Found my Ryley gorked out on sedatives and pain meds due to a foot injury while boarding at the vet. The foot will be fine but I thought I was losing her last night and this afternoon. Dehydrated and won’t eat or drink. Not fish, not chicken broth, certainly not water or her special dog food. Finally got her to eat some raw eggs and green bean juice. Still no water or real food, but she seems to have perked up. I have to be out of town teaching tomorrow and Sunday but I have a babysitter and I’ll be praying every chance I get. Not the restful end of vacation I was hoping for, but I love her with a heart and a half. God has loved me through her in ways you can’t even imagine. He knows how to get to me.

Alb, I'm praying for you. Hope your dad's wife and your " baby " get better soon.
Found out a neighbors dad (who is a friend ) only has a week or so left. DAMN I HATE OCTOBER !! Lost my brother last year on the 26th. 1 year Sunday. As stated I am praying for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope all gets better soon. One of my dogs tore her ACL - I've never heard a dog scream like she did before. She likely will need surgery to repair it fully. She can't put that leg down at all really, so right now she's a "bad ass 3 legged dog". She can do anything she wants on 3 legs, it's amazing how resilient she is. Nothing stops her from eating and drinking.

I'm so sorry, Amy. Bad news seems to bunch up on us, doesn't it? I'll be remembering you off and on today, I know.

Be good to yourself, and to your loved ones, Li'l Sis.

Prayers going out for your Dad's wife and your puppy-dog.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

We all hate to hear bad news like this, it seems to happen to everyone of us when we never see it coming. The people and pets in your life are lucky to have someone as caring as you in theirs, I'm sure all will be well in time.

Alb,

Pedialyte works well for dogs as well and has all those electrolytes lost from dehydration and not eating.
