I've got a gig at Millsaps College. My wife is coming along and we are going to spend a few days in New Orleans. We are going to drive from Jackson MS. to New Orleans and then back. I'm thinking of spending a night in Natches but we wouldn't get to spend much time there and I don't know if it is worth the detour.
I'd be interested in any suggestions of places to stay or things to see on our car ride down to New Orleans from Jackson. I don't have many days to sight see.
We were married in New Orleans 34 years ago . I was touring with the show "A Chorus Line" and my future wife flew in and we eloped. I took off on the tour for 6 months and she went back to teaching until we finally moved into NYC together after the tour ended. This will be our first time returning to New Orleans since we were married by a justice of the peace in the court house.

When are you coming to NOLA? I'm in the suburbs and if you are free, would love to get together.
I hate to be 'that guy' with spelling but since I corrected my twin today, I'll correct you and tell you it's Natchez. Still want to see me?
Seriously, Natchez is a great little town that I hope gambling won't ruin. PM me and I"ll give you my email and phone number if you want to connect. Maybe RedBEERd will be free too.
I have a banjo, mandolin and a few acoustic and electric guitars but only really know how to play guitar. The others I just took up for the fun of it. I'd love to hear you play!

Oops! Natchez... I knew that. I should proof read before I press send.
I'm coming down in April, After Easter.it would be nice to meet up. I'm not sure if it will fit because we don't have that many days when you add in the driving. Let's see how things end up when The time gets closer.its going to be really busy the weekend that we arrive. We are staying in the Hilton Garden Inn just on the edge of the French Quarter.

Don't change plans for us but if you do have time, we can go to the Avenue Pub on St. Charles....watch the street cars and soak in the spring sun with some good beer options. Oh, and of course, some homebrew.
Ehhhhh, the French Quarter. Not my cup of tea but I know tourists have to see it. Architecture is awesome. The rest is blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

It's the same when people come to NYC and go to Times Square. I hate going there but out of towners think that is all that New York is.
