Although, I still cool the wort with an ice bath, and using the BIAB bag instead of a traditional filter. Doing some kinda hybrid SMEIBB/Traditional thing here!

Whose jealous? I've seen the photo of all the gear you use to brew with, I bet you have to store all that stuff in a whole separate house, and I still can't figure out how you get to your pots without tripping over all that tubing.haerbob3 wrote:Ahh Don't listen to Michele she just jealous. SMEIBBs rock.
Thank you, it's great to be back. Although I had to put brewing on hold for months, I'm finally going to get back in action again soon.Beer-lord wrote:Sorry, off topic.....
Great to see you stop by Vince. Hope all is going well with you and your beer.
Phil, you will need a manifold, false bottom, or braid to filter the runnings, and I see further down in the thread that you intended to put together a bazooka braid such as Vince has done. This will work fine, but keep the following in mind:philm00x wrote:Sooooo I finally finished rigging up the spigot, but haven't configured a filter of any kind yet. Would a filter be necessary, or can you just recirculate the wort over the grain bed, using the grains as a natural filter, until the wort runs clear? If anything, I can just use my BIAB bag to hold the grain and filter the solids until I can get a bazooka screen or something.
