Just stumbled upon this. It's a ~4 gallon version of their fermenter. So it's a split between the 2 and 6 gallon versions that they sell on Mr. Beer site, and the 23L fermenter they sell on their own site. Funny thing is they sell it with a 2 gallon Mr. Beer craft refill, where it would take 2 of those to actually fill the thing. And they only provide enough bottles for that 2 gallon batch. But it costs the same as the 8L version Mr. Beer sells.

Ignoring the refills/bottles, this is actually tempting to me, even though it's a weird size. I'm used to brewing weird sized batches, no biggie for me since I don't buy 5 gallon pre-made kits. The dimensions work for me, 37.5cm tall without the collar (< 15") . <17" with the collar. < 12" diameter. It would actually fit in my bar fridge. And without the clips on the lid, it will satisfy my semi-open fermenting desires. And it's as easy to clean as a bucket, but has the best spigot you can get IMHO (the coopers spigots are awesome and easy to clean).
I think I could brew 3 gallon batches of dubbels, tripels, and quads in this with 3787, and not have a huge blowoff mess, and be able to use my fridge as a fermentation chamber. And you can put it in the dishwasher if you want.
Which is just about perfect in my world.
Sooo tempting.

This sounds right up my alley because of my batch size. And would lessen the amount of times I would have to use a blowoff tube. Do they sell the fermenter by itself?

I wish but as of now they do not seem to.
You can find them cheaper with free shipping at other shops.
I like the idea of a 3 gallon batch fermenter that likely won't blow off (2.5 for sure even with the most aggressive top cropping yeasts). As in it's "one size bigger" as such then the LBCs I've got.
Which is good for me. I keep toying with the idea of going to a true 6 gallon fermenter again for 5 gallon batches, since I've brewed a bunch lately, but I don't want to lug that thing down my stairs after brewing. But 3 gallons I can handle. I don' t mind splitting my bigger batches across my 2 LBC fermenters. Long ago I used 6 and 5 gallon carboys, but I don't want to mess with them anymore... I like having a spigot. And better bottle spigots are a super PITA with that freaking tool. Coopers spigots just snap in and snap out.
FWIW, those Coopers PET bottles are about the best PET bottles you can get. I don't mind getting more of them, they are what I use for most stuff. I've kept strong beer for 2 years in them without a problem.
So I dunno... I might go for it.
