Prepare to drool! This is a short video of the Big Demon fermenter undergoing final testing. ETA is looking to be end of April/beginning of May.

Re: Any ETA on the 6G conical from BrewDemon?
Curios if it supports a vent plug like the little demons? I'm pretty sure I will never use an airlock again, except if I secondary. I'm having amazingly good results with my semi-open (very loose lid/no gasket) fermentations these days in my little demons. If not, and I got one, I guess I could just jam a solid stopper in there and not snap down the lid? EDIT: Although I dunno, it looks like that might not work so well in the picture in previous page...LouieMacGoo wrote:I believe that the air lock is not included in that measurement.
My goal would be to let it freely vent and not pressurize, yet keep cat hairs and fruit flies from getting in there. Loose lids/vent plug on the little demons do a good job of this.
A speidel with a loose lid would work, a Coopers fermenter (or um... big 24L Mr. Beer one which is the same thing...) might work as I want if I don't clip down the lid, assuming it has a bit of a "lip" which I am unable to determine so far... but I'm looking at all options. Since I've been brewing a lot of 5 gallon batches lately, I might go ahead an get a 5 gallon fermenter, if I can find one that tickles my fancy in this regards. I don't want to go as far as "cheesecloth covered open" due to my house brett. I want a lip over the opening, because wild yeast and bacteria can't "crawl up" under that.

I need to double check but I believe that Sam told me that the base model will come with a vent plug. I have to look back at all my notes and emails.

More then just the vent plug, see above, I explained better perhaps - I want the lid to be able to be put on very loosely so it vents as freely as possible, yet still keep things from "falling through the cracks" as such. I might then tighten it down a bit or snap it on after 7-10 days or so when it stops pumping out so much CO2 just to keep fruit flies out. (they die if they try to crawl up a lid when it's venting CO2, but once it stops venting, not so much).LouieMacGoo wrote:I need to double check but I believe that Sam told me that the base model will come with a vent plug. Well, hopefully I will have one in the next few weeks to review and I will check that out.

Same/same, I get a fb page that says content currently unavailable. If I knew how to take and save a "screenshot" I'd show it to you. However don't sweat the small sh...stuff, I see no one else chiming in with "yeah me too!" so probably only happening to me. Just "Murphy's Law" putting in it's prerequisite appearance.

No it's not just you Jim, I'm getting the same thing. Maybe if you find Brew Demon page on FB might be able to.

You get that message if you are not logged into Facebook. This is due to the owner of the page (in this case BrewDemon) not adjusting their settings properly to allow non-Facebook members to view their content, which for a company that's trying to market their product seems counterproductive. That's what happens when non-marketers try to do marketing unfortunately.
Example:
Type in "Facebook.com/Pepsi". Or, "Facebook.com/Coke".
Now, type in "Facebook.com/BrewDemon". If you can't see it, but could see Pepsi and Coke, that's your answer. If you can see all 3, you're logged in.

Man those pics are almost sexy.
Re: Any ETA on the 6G conical from BrewDemon?
The valve at the bottom looks like it could be more expensive than the rest of the piece but that's a nice looking fermenter. What's in it?

Cider, hence using a clear fermenter.
Here's the content they posted for those that don't use Facebook.
Our 7 gallon fermenter is coming soon! Here it is in action…about 2.5 hours since I picked the yeast on this blackberry cider. This configuration is using a venting plug (instead of the airlock), but includes the full stainless dump setup including a butterfly valve. Cheers!

BrewDemon This is just under 29 inches tall, we will be offering a basic version with a dump plug and it is just 24 inches tall.

Chuck Thresher So, the basic version with the dump plug is a new model (I'm assuming), or something I can configure on my current fermenter?

BrewDemon They tested fine on on the little demon 3 gallon fermenter, so it should not be a problem here. Also, we are working on a cooling jacket for the 3 gallon version.

BrewDemon The 7 gal fermenters come in clear and amber. Hard cider doesn't need the UV protection like beer does, plus it makes it easy to watch the fermentation taking place.
