We're doing the same thing. RedBEERd got 2 bombers of Ruination and we hope to get 2.0 soon but I doubt there's and old Pale Ale around here. I rarely saw it to begin with.Kealia wrote:I forgot about this. I need to go out and grab a bomber this weekend so I can compare the old versus the new!

This was in the Turnip Truck organic/natural foods grocery, which is located in the Gulch and is a hipster magnet. Thus, the PBR. Note that every other beer gets one row in the cooler, but PBR gets two...Inkleg wrote:PBR alert, bottom shelf!

Re: Stone Pale Ale 2.0 released
So finally, yesterday, Beerlord and myself did a taste test of the original and new 2.0 versions of Ruination. And there is a difference, noticed immediately. 2.0 DEFINITELY has a nose of pineapple, but not as strong as say, Enjoy By or Ghost in the Machine. It's also a tad less bitter so a little more enjoyable to me. It does have close to the same finish as the original.
My guess is that its closer to the Ruin Ten that is out once a year celebrating the anniversary of Ruination.
I would buy 2.0 regularly. I didn't with the original.
To me, it's easily a better beer. I'd love to hear the opinions of others who have tried the old against the new.
