Small Plates with BigPapaG: Italian Sausage and Everything Salad, Paired with HomeBrewed Applewine!

Welcome to my new show called Small Plates with BigPapaG!

- Randomly featured Small Plate and Beverage Pairings for your enjoyment!

On our pilot show last night, I featured:

Aglio e Olio al la Broccoli, Baby Spinach, Tomato and Kalamata Olives, paired with a Saranac West End Winter IPA.

Tonight I wish to showcase a very popular salad here at our Brewhaus called the Everything Salad. It's called the Everything Salad because I put everything I have available that seems like it would work well so while you may never know what is going to be in it, there will always be something in it that you like!

In addition, there will be Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions.

As you can see from the image below, tonight's salad consists of Romain Lettuce Hearts, Feta Cheese, Apple Chunks, Diced Onion, Diced Celery, Shredded Carrot, Diced Cucumber, Dried Cranberries, Mixed Nuts, Sliced Kalamata Olives, Red and golden Yellow Tomato (chunked). It's dressed with your choice of dressing (I choose Italian with a sprits of Balsalmic Vinegar and a sprinkle of Parmesean Cheese!

The Peppers and Onions are sauteed in a pat of butter along with the sausages and served on a toasted bun.

The resulting small plate is served with my very own Homebrewed Applewine!

I don't have a picture, but tonight we had "Aglio e Olio al la Red Pepper, Kalamata Olives, and Rocket".

Rocket = Arugula.

Except I didn't eat from a small plate. I ate from a very large plate. LOL.

I've been having my spaghetti aglio e olio with the veges on the side this week. Either fresh asparagus or fresh brussel sprouts with lemon.

Pics look great BigPapaG.

I learned about the wonder of Arugula from a British/Aussie couple. So it rubbed off.

Thanks Prof!

I also love asparagus and brussel sprouts... I like to cut them and either roast or saute them.

Good on the grill too!

Note: My canine buddy Loki loves Brussel Sprouts as well...

Haven't told him they are good for him... Shhhhh... Don't tell him...

He pops 'em like Tic Tacs...

Then he does a lot of this...

You would like my sauerkraut. It's 1/2 brussel sprouts, and 1/2 cabbage. It turned out awesome.

EDIT: My dogs like carrots. Crunch crunch crunch...
