Hmmm..... I'll try it at 7%.

FYI, the malt in question:

http://www.farmhousebrewingsupply.com/r ... malz-1-lb/

I wonder how much it's different then a medium kilned Munich malt, which will can also make a reddish beer?

I think a pair of SMaSH brews is in order.

According to their site, my code is getting it. Add another beer to the list that I'll be trying.

From my experience, just showing it's available in your zip code isn't always accurate but I'm sure it's there in Cali. Plus, by the time we get it, it's in very small amounts and not even on shelves and you have to know someone to get it.
I'll try to find some but I doubt I will. I'm not a huge Red fan but it's Stone so that's all I need to know.

I definitely want to try this one. Stone previously released this at a special fundraising event in Pataskala this past fall. Pataskala is Koch's hometown, which is only about 30 miles north of me. A guy I work with went to one of the events and said the beer was awesome. You can read a little more about the event right here.

I'm hoping this is good. The last few Stone beers I've tried have been bitter for the sake of being bitter and not to my liking. If I'm lucky it will show up in the taproom that I frequent so I can taste it as I'm unwilling to buy a 6-pack at this point.

Shhh, More Hops Matter is BITTER but it wasn't supposed to be.
I used to like beers that hit you right away and now I'm enjoying Pales and hoppy beers but with less 'slap yo mamma' up front.
These guys must be having fun putting out all these different beers one behind the other. Germany won't have any idea what hit em!

I could only find this malt at two places. 10lbs plus shipping is about $23 at either place. Farmhouse and Austin Brewing are the ones who have it.

A buddy of mine brought me over a sixer of these. I'll be reviewing this in the review thread.
