Just watched the live stream of the awards ceremony. I didn't medal. No biggie. I still consider making to the final round a huge success. I rebrewed the recipe and kegged it today. I'm going to send it off the Ohio Brew Week competition in July.

Damn, congrats!
Just advancing from the first round is fantastic, and a score of 43.5 is also incredible!
I just wanna know how good the beers that beat you were!

Awesome to get to the finals in the first place. I'm sure there were probably 25-30 in your category for the first round!
EDIT::: 46 entries in Nashville for the first round and come out of there in second is AWESOME!!! Your entry was one of 36 to get to the final round out of 456 for IPA's.

Did the same then when I entered a few years ago...
Placed third in the first round and no joy in the final...
I rebrewed for the second round and in retrospect, I agreed with the judges that my second batch was not worthy...
I should have stayed with my original batch for round two even though it would have had some more age on it.
Did you rebrew for round two or go with the original batch?
Re: 2016 AHA Homebrew Competition
I sent the original to the finals. I just kegged the second batch so we'll see in a week how the rebrew turned out.
