philm00x wrote: I actually rather enjoy it. It's a gas system, with heavy duty burners, so it puts out a looooot of heat. Mashing in hundreds of pounds of grain takes a lot more muscle than just 10-15 lbs, so it gives me a heck of a workout. What I've told others is that it is basically just like a homebrewing session just with a lot bigger equipment and volumes. It does take longer from start to finish because it's so much bigger in scale, but it's not much different in work load.
@Phil let me just congratulate you once again, you have got to be so excited! Thank you for sharing some fantastic news with us, and best of luck to you in your new life as a pro-brewer. I will be reaching out to you from time to time to compare brewing notes if you have the time. An owner/brewer acquaintance of mine is also brewing on a 4 bbl. system, at Little Dog Brewing Co. located in Neptune NJ. Once again congratulations on scoring the job of a lifetime.

Again thank you all so very much! @Screwy- Thank you and that would be fine. My boss wants me to immerse myself into as many brewing resources as possible, whether it be in print or in conversation with other brewers. Learning techniques and processes will always be on my mind- anything to help me be a better brewer- so I will always welcome knowledge and wisdom from others.

Dood, that's awesome. I really hope that brewing stays fun for you and never turns into "a job".

Enjoy!

Congratulations Phil! This is fantastic news, and I'm so happy for you. I am more than a little jealous, however. Remember who your friends are when it comes time to hire an assistant.
