Morning coffee and treats with Bodie. He goes to Peet's with me on the weekends and gets a little bit of whipped cream as a treat.

Re: Furry Family Side part 2
Our dog Gretta that we rescued about 3 yrs ago hasn't been feeling well lately, not eating and very lethargic. I took her to the Vet today and the Xray showed an enlarged spleen and what looked like several tumors (possibly cancer). Along with several other finding it was determined that without surgery and possible treatment she only has a few days left to spend with us. Gretta is a senior dog, were guessing she is at least 10 yrs old, most likely older so we just can't justify spending thousands of dollars for a very uncertain outcome. She is such a sweet soul and I'm so sad to let her go after only a short few years but I'm glad that we have been able to make here last few years happy and full of love.

So sorry to hear this Leigh. It will always be the hardest decision we make as pet owners/lovers. There is no doubt that she has lived the life of Royalty with you and your family. Mine and Jody's heart goes out to you and your family.
We love them while they're here and cry like babies when we lose them.

Very sorry. It's just awful when our pets reach that point.
Every time it happened to us I tell my wife no more dogs because it breaks my heart. Then I cave in and get another one.

My wife and I have been involved in Basset Hound rescue since 1999 and have lost many Foster dogs as well as our own. I know it's really hard to loose our Furry Family members. Right now we have a rescue Basset named Charles who is 4 yrs old. He came into a Maryland shelter after escaping from his owners 3 times. He was 6 months old when we met him at an All Basset Hound rescue in N. Maryland. The rescue group is Brood.org. if anyone is interested in adopting a houndie. Leigh, our heartfelt feelings go out to your family.
