You would drink anything...I've seen some of your recipes!!mashani wrote:I'd drink it
As for the question on too much red X? I haven't used it before, so I really can't answer. But wasn't there a discussion on here in the past about using too much red X? I remember it was along the time when Stone introduced their Pataskala Red X IPA. I'll have to go back and look.

No you wouldn't. If he shipped you a bottle it'd have that damn tape on it so you'd never get the cap off.mashani wrote:I'd drink it

Re: New Rustalian Pale Ale
I used it twice and both times I used Red-X as the only malt.
I think Screwy mentioned a while back that he read/heard that there were issues with attenuation using a lot of this malt but I did not have that issue.
I need to order some and do another amber with it. I think the NS is great in any malt bill, so I'm on board, too.

I didn't write this but should have been consulted.
Did you know it's common at many beer contests to have bottles with tape on them? I was ahead of my time!

A couple of things that I noted in a quick scan of that article. One it said tape was optional and two it said ELECTRICAL tape not that industrial strength sh*t that has shown up at my house.

But, this is America and I have the freedom to do what I do and keeping the tape manufacturers in business is what I want to do!

Re: New Rustalian Pale Ale
Two years ago at our HB Comp I was stewarding a table that had a beer shipped with black tape on it, tried to get a pic and text it out couldn't get reception. It got passed around to judges and stewards as an example of how not to ship comp beer, at least in these here parts!

And this is the wording in the AHA National Competition Guidelines "Bottles and caps must be free from labels, tape or any identifying marks." So they don't like it either.Dawg LB Steve wrote:Two years ago at our HB Comp I was stewarding a table that had a beer shipped with black tape on it, tried to get a pic and text it out couldn't get reception.
