Mello at Bootleg Biology is working on some yeasties for us... his latest FB post...
"Wanted to let you all know there will be more Homebrew Cultures for sale soon! We're finalizing the details now, and will be releasing a ridiculously awesome new culture. Stay tuned for details!
To tide you over, here's a video of a hand squishing 2 Trillion cells of yeast."

Will we be seeing him do his thing? I'm not sure I want to trust taking some home but I might order some from him to try something different.

I'm not sure what is planned, but I imagine it will be fun and interesting. As for ordering, you can definitely order on his website and/or buy there (depending on what he has available that day). I plan to (finally) buy a yeast wrangling kit to start experimenting with in the spring. Really want to break a basic beer into 5 one gallon fermenters with different yeast cultures and explore the differences. Hoping one or two are actual harvests.

Maybe I should buy a kit and 30 extra agar plates. Then I could infect all of you with Brett samples in the mail.

Re: Borg Meet-Up 2018 NASHVILLE!!
Speaking of beer lines that are no fun... 500 or so people at the Bearded Iris birthday party/beer release yesterday. One checkout person. 3-4 hour waits to get beers and checkout. Great for BI that they are getting this type of turnout and buzz, but totally glad to avoid this kind of cluster...
I will say, however, that I hope one of these Mood Ring variants is available when you are in town... This one sold out in cans, but draft is still available.

I'm looking forward to going there too. But if there is a line like that...I'll pass and go somewhere else.

There is no scheduled beer release on the days you all are in town... should be normal business-as-usual...

Well just make sure they have some of the Mood Ring in cans so I can take home or else you're career as Nashville caretaker to the Borg will be in jeopardy.

EDIT: Seeing on the page on the website that the last update was... 11/27. D'oh. I guess we will have to be surprised...
Not 100% certain how up to date they keep this page, but according to their website, this is Tailgate Music Row's current tap list for tomorrow's dinner outing... note the available cans are at the bottom of image #1:
I have had several of their IPAs, and they are usually pretty solid. Haven't had any of their sours, so I can't speak to those. The Peanut Butter Milk Stout is probably their best received beer, along with the Boys in the Yard IPA. According to Brandi, the best seller in her shop is the Woo Girl IPA (which I notice isn't on tap this week), as it is hugely popular with the Woo-Girls that go on pedal tavern tours that stop at her shop...

Having a blast I’m Nashville. Swen has taken great care of us. Meeting new Borg is fun too. John is a great guy and his beers are very good too.
