FINALLY got my hands on a can of Heady Topper today! :hammer:
It's chilling in the fridge -- waiting for the right moment, with the lights down low, candles burning, Barry White on the iPod....
OK, maybe "TMI" but hey, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning at this point.

I've only had half of 1 can and I really enjoyed it. As I remember (and I think I said this on this forum before) the difference in this beer was the flavor kept coming and coming until it was gone. It was not actually extremely hoppy but the hops stood out and the flavor profile was exceptional. If I could drink this often, I would be in beer heaven.

It was nice only being a car ride from where they made and sold it...... now i have to wait to go back north to get my hands on a case to bring back to VA to treat my new brew club to that fantastic aroma and taste!

Thanks, everybody! Getting stitches out this evening. Arm still very sore. Carol has to go to an orthopedist.

Adjuster hasn't called yet about bike ... it's all cosmetic and there's a $500 deductible, so we'll see how that goes.

Between the bike ins, and my health plan at work, I'm hoping to have most of medical costs covered.

My fermenters are shut down til around labor day. I was on this trip, now I ache. I have six full 5gal corny kegs, though.

I'm going to vow next year I will plan my brews better. Right now I have an Oktoberfest Lager going in my cooler with a controller and it is doing good in the secondary, but I just made an Ale and my basement temps are too high and I can't put it in with the Lager because that is way to cold, so I had to put it in my old lager cabinet that I built a long time ago when I was using all MB and LBK's and I have to change out the ice bottles twice a day to keep it in the low to mid 60's. I have all the ingredients to do another saison and the temps would be perfect but I got atleast a week before I can free up my primary. I have to plan my brews better around the seasons and weather, and I will, well should do. :)

Was tinkering with my beer stand tonight trying to get the chugger pump mounted. I think it will work. I used some galvanized wire with some bolt holes thorugh it and moulded it around the square stock. It has a little wiggle but it definitely won't shift while in use and I won't lose it :) Take a look:

Next is mounting the Plate Chiller. Might have more of an issue with this one.

Just two things Dan. Fabricate a splash shield to go over the pump motor. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something to keep liquid from splashing in it. And make sure to put pipe tape on those fittings. It's coming along nice, can't wait to see it in action.

Crap-ola. My fermentation chamber (very old dorm fridge that I bought used 2 years ago) seems to have given up the ghost over the weekend. And I'm planning to brew my "wet-hop harvest" IPA this weekend.
It took me quite a while to find a fridge that (A) would hold two LBK's at once, (B) was cheap, and (C) was for sale nearby. Looks like I'm in the market for a fridge, again. In the meantime, it's back to a cooler and ice packs. Ugh.
Craig's List, here I come. :-x

An article I came across written by screwy. This link goes to the water section of the thread where I posted the article.
