I looked at the specs on the original fromm 3 Floyds.... how did they decide to label Zombie Dust as an APA with 60 IBUs and 6.4% ABV? Anyhow, I plugged numbers into BeerSmith and because of the really high alpha on these Citra that I have, the late additions are all 0.36 oz with a 0.72 oz dry hop (this for a 2.5 gallon batch). Saving the recipe for now but I'm afraid to brew it, for fear of my tongue disintegrating from such hoppiness.

You can never have too much late hops! Beersmith (and other calculators) are notoriously bad at calculating IBUs from late hops. I've brewed all late hopped beers estimated at over 100 IBUs, and the perceived bitterness was somewhere around 35-40, and very smooth. Trust me, you don't want to use less, especially for dry-hopping (which is for aroma only anyway).

Hmm.. Well then, going back and bumping the late additions to .50 oz each and 1.00 oz dry hop, estimated IBUs are a hair shy of 88 now. I think that's going to be my limit. I'm afraid!!!
