Yeah, I'm of the same mind set. Love the people and love the site, so here to stay. All it would have taken was communication on their part on what was going on from the begining. That was all we asked, literally and we never got an answer.

I'm not going back there no matter what they do. I lost 3/4 of my posts and all of the functionality sucks.

Why hit yourself in the forehead with a 2 x 4?

Sorry for the late reply, I don't really visit the forum on the weekends. Actually I've been super busy this weekend building this beauty (check out my attachment). It lost its brewing virginity to a 10 gallon batch of Saison just yesterday. I'll probably be talking about this brewstand for a few weeks I'm so proud of it, so bear with me..

Anyhow, for the record, this is not the Soviet Union, and there are no conspiracies or coups going on related to the forum. The forum is more like a house that invites a lot of guests. Wouldn't you get tired if after the 15th time someone insults our curtains and tells everyone else to leave our house and go hang out at our neighbor's house? Our neighbor, by the way, is a cool guy as well. I would just assume our own friends and community care enough about us to not ditch us as we work diligently on our house reparations. Living in a bachelor pad with 2 other guy roommates and a near constant supply of beer, I have learned that most people don't usually care about some crappy curtains, but will stick around as long as there is beer. I definitely overextended this metaphor and ended up on a random tangent...

As for an explanation - I know beer; beer is my domain; but the interwebs I am still trying to figure out (I feel like I was born in the wrong generation sometimes). I can't give you a great explanation because it's very technical and a bit over my head; it mostly has to do with some mundane thing like system integration. What I do know is I see all of the internet savy folks here at Mr. Beer working very hard on the forum. So in the end, I'm just saying it's cool to say whatever, but just because we are now on the interwebs and can't see each other's faces doesn't mean we shouldn't be kind and respectful.

That's thoughtful, but it misses the point. A business forum is a service. Many of us visit every day, seeking information and some internet socializing. If the forum was a house, it didn't have old curtains. The door was locked, the lights were off, and the basement was full of water. There is a condemnation notice on the door. I'm not mad at MrBeer over the forum, but how often do they expect me to visit a site that's hard to sign onto, hard to post, impossible to get information? I don't get into a car unless I can drive it somewhere. I don't go to a restaurant that has no food. And I'm not going to a dead internet forum. I'd post this over there, but it's too difficult.

I find it interesting that it's been said that the post was later deleted. Maybe he got censored too.

I don't give a rat's ass. I've not gone back there since I posted saying I was leaving. there's no reason to go over and look at the wreckage.

they must've been doing something to the forum y'all, as the post now appears here: http://community.mrbeer.com/community/d ... drain-pipe (5th post down right now)

Ah, I figured it was censored due to the fact he showed that he was brewing on a non-MrB approved rig.

Whether or not they get the kinks worked out doesn't matter to me. I have no interest in the MB forum anymore. Not without regrets, since it meant a lot to me, for a lot of reasons.

But this was just mishandled in so many ways that could have been avoided (communication is key, people) it just seemed to me that Mr. Beer cared less about this than they did about putting up a good front. Style over substance, in other words, which is something I despise.

Besides, so many of the people who made that place a home for me are here now, so I think I'll just see what's in the fridge, check out the TV schedule, and maybe do something about those curtains; they're really tacky.

You know what's the best thing about banging your head against the wall? It feels so good when you stop.
