That's going to look great in black. Loving the wood stain and the idea about the chalkboard paint on top! Great job.

Something like this. This is not cheap, but gives you an idea.

Whamo, that's the style drip tray I have. Works great for my system, but judging from the pics of Jim's keezer, his collar isn't the right size to accommodate it and still get a glass under the taps for a proper draw. Inkleg's pic looks like it fits over the taps and doesn't need to be mounted elsewhere, so Jim wouldn't have to drill holes in the actual freezer.

The only drawback I can see is that, since the holes are pre-drilled in the Inkleg one, you'd have to make sure your taps conformed to the tray's specs, not vice versa, and I'm sure Jim doesn't want to retro-fit the collar/tap assembly. If he was going to do that, he might as well make a whole new collar from wider one-by's and get the wall-mounted tray you suggested.

Inkleg's other suggestion, of finding a piece of stainless steel, mounting that to the wood under the taps, and then attaching the drip tray to it, may be the best option. If he's handy enough (or has a buddy who's handy enough, has a free weekend or two, and likes getting paid in beer), it wouldn't be too hard to do.

BINGO! I posted the link as a visual to what I was referring too. Any sheet metal, piece of wood, chain mail, string, etc, etc, to hang and support any drip tray from will work.

Very cool. And inspiring. I'm assembling my kegerator today. In spite of too many parts and other minor errors, it's going well so far.
