Hi! I think this might be my first post here. I have been lurking for a little while since the MrB forum blew up.
I really enjoyed the collaboration back in the spring. I have made the recipe another time since then.
I am a firm 2 with aspirations. I have made 20+ brews since I started in January. I would love to have someone help me through a partial mash like my previous collaborator taught me about full volume hop boils.

Hmm.. This sounds interesting, I'm not a level 2 but I've done a partial mash, but never a hop boil or anything DME. So to be safe I'm probably a level 1.5? But I just did my 30th batch. Go figure.
I want to do a black creamy beer with no bitter. There, gaunlet down.

Great to see all the replies!
Let's clear a couple things up at this point, though.
Whatever your level of experience doesn't determine the technique. In other words, a Level 4 brewer may be paired with a Level 3 brewer (or even another Level 4), and you may wind up doing a DME/steep/hop boil recipe. Or a Level 1 brewer may get schooled and make the jump to Partial Mash. The point is, it's up to you and your partner how you want to brew.
Similarly, what you want to brew (Porter, Kolsch, Cream Ale, Bock) is up to you and your partner to work out. I'm not polling which recipes people want to do and then doing the pairings. You'll have to work that out between the two of you. Hopefully, it won't result in a "pistols at dawn" scenario, but we're all adults, and we can work these things out.
The best advice I can give is to approach the RCE as if you and your partner are blank slates. Come into it with no preconceived notions or expectations (and no demands), and you may be very pleasantly surprised by what comes out of the bottle in a couple months.

So Dave we looking at Friday September 20 for the Notice of our pairs?
Or are you going to do it on or near the 15th?
Just wondering since I was going to brew up something possibly this weekend, but since I have limited space might wait until pairing is done to be ready

I'm gonna try to do it the 15th, Toby. But remember, it's going to take you and your partner a little time to nail your recipe down, and besides, there's no deadline on when you brew your recipe.

so will we have to check this thread for pairings, or will we a get PM?
I don't care either way, just want to know how we find out.

I'll be starting a new thread for RCE pairings. I imagine Louie will make it a sticky, like he did with this thread, so it will be more obvious.
